Last night in Japan, the 2018 Famitsu Award winners were announced, and we have all of them here for you.
As a quick background, Famitsu is a line of Japanese video game magazines, and their original publication–Shukan Famitsu–is considered the most widely ready and respected video game magazine in Japan. So Famitsu administers the Famitsu Awards, which are highly coveted awards in Japan.
So the winners are:
GAME OF THE YEAR
There were actually two winners for Game of the Year this year.
SUPER SMASH BROS. ULTIMATE
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been killing it, and their award is well-deserved. They sold over 12 million copies of this game in just the month after it was released! So yeah, it was a hit.
MONSTER HUNTER WORLD
But this year, the other Game of the Year was Monster Hunter World, as it was just as awesome as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. They also sold over 12 million copies, and have “Monster Hunter World: Iceborn” coming this fall. It looks like its time to hunt more monsters.
