Calbee Releases 17 New Flavors Based On Japan Prefectures!

Calbee, the popular Japanese snack food company, has announced the second round of flavors in their “Love Japan” promotion, in which they celebrate the flavors of Japan’s prefectures. This time, the tastes being represented are those of Hokkaido, Aomori, Yamagata, Gumma, Chiba, Niigata, Yamanashi, Toyama, Shizuoka, Osaka, Nara, Tottori, Hiroshima, Ehime, Oita, Kagoshima and Okinawa.

Hokkaido will have it “mountain wasabi” taste.

Okinawa will have its “Taco Rice” taste.

The other tastes will be as follows:

  • Aomori—miso shellfish
  • Yamagata—potato curry udon
  • Niigata—katsu sauce
  • Gunma—grilled manju
  • Chiba—Katsu tantanmen
  • Yamanashi—kofu bird
  • Toyama—black ramen
  • Shizuoka—Sakurabi
  • Osaka—red ginger
  • Nara—broild persimmon leaves
  • Tottori—beef bone ramen
  • Hiroshima—sea urchin
  • Ehime—shakaten
  • Oita—soy sauce
  • Kagoshima—bonito miso soup
