Meet the Heroes of Yomi no Tsugai: Yuru and Asa

The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Yomi no Tsugai has officially hit screens on Japanese TV, bringing to life the latest supernatural action story from Hiromu Arakawa — the creator of the legendary Fullmetal Alchemist.

The story follows 16-year-old twins Yuru and Asa, who hold mysterious powers and suddenly find their quiet mountain village thrown into chaos when its protective barrier shatters. Cue helicopters, armed invaders, a girl claiming to be the real Asa, and a battle over powers that could change everything.

After escaping without his sister, Yuru teams up with two powerful Daemons, Left and Right, the village’s guardian duo, and uncovers a massive truth bomb: the Asa he knew was a fake.

He and his real twin are actually the legendary “children who sunder day and night,” holders of the mysterious Break and Seal powers. Now hiding in Japan with his fake-but-protective “parents,” Hana and Dera, Yuru digs into his family’s disappearance—all while dangerous enemies hunt him down for his world-shaking abilities.
