Here at JapanSauce.Net we are huge fans of manga, and read many of them on a weekly basis. We know that a lot of you share the same enthusiasm, so we will be providing up-to-date weekly reviews of our favorite manga.

But not everyone has been reading manga as religiously as we have, so we will also be going back in time to review old manga arcs for you. No fillers of course!

We will begin with one of my favorites—BLEACH.

What is it?

Bleach (ブリーチ)is a manga series written by Tite Kubo Sensei. It began on August 7, 2001 and is now on Manga 666. Scary number, huh?

Its main protagonist is Ichigo Kurosaki, a teenager from Karakura Town with spiky orange hair.

Did I mention that he has the ability to see ghosts? Yeah, it’s a pretty cool ability to have. On top of that, he is also very skilled at karate, having practiced since he was four years old.

Aside from the ghosts, Ichigo was a typical teenage guy, until one night he met Rukia Kuchiki—a Shinigami or Death God.

This encounter would eventually awaken Ichigo’s own Shinigami powers and lead him down a path to some seriously exciting battles! Not bad for a guy that just bummed-around most of the time.

Bleach is a typical Shonen manga, full of action, humor, and some very fun characters…and swords—lots of very cool swords. So I hope you enjoy our reviews of this great manga, and please check-out some of the other manga we love too.
