Here is the full recipe:

Ingredients:

  1. Green Cabbage
  2. Cake flour
  3. Nagaimo (Chinese Yam)
  4. Salt
  5. One egg
  6. Katsuo dashi (bonito balls)
  7. Pork
  8. Green Onions
  9. Bonito flakes
  10. Seaweed flakes
  11. Okonomiyaki sauce
  12. Mayonnaise
  13. Vegetable Oil
  14. Fry pan

Step One:  Making the Okonomiyaki mix

Cut the cabbage in half. You should avoid the core when cutting the cabbage.

Thinly slice half of the cabbage into thin strips. Then cut the strips into smaller pieces (as thin as you like).

Put the sliced cabbage in a big bowl.

Slice the green onions into small pieces, and add them into the bowl.

Peel the nagaimo (chinese yam), but be careful because it is slippery. Make sure to cut the end off. Grate the nagaimo into the bowl.

Add the flour, katsuo dashi, salt, one egg, and some tap water into the bowl.

Now mix everything until it has a medium consistency.

Step Two:  Cooking the Okonomiyaki

Put some oil in a hot fry pan.

Add one scoop of the Okonomiyaki mix into the pan.

Place some pork pieces on top of the okonomiyaki, and then wait until the bottom of the okonomiyaki begins to brown. Once the bottom is beginning to brown, flip the okonomiyaki like a pancake!

Once the other side browns, take it off the pan.

Now top your okonomiyaki with the okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, bonito flakes, and seaweed flakes. And enjoy!
